Is JesusFit CrossFit?!
Is JesusFit CrossFit?!
It depends on how you look at it. ;)
It’s pretty clear we love ‘The Cross’ and getting fit, but to make a long story short (or a short story short) - we don’t do physical fitness. I’m sorry, JesusFit is not CrossFit - although that’s a good idea!
We do however, help people work on different kind of fitness - spiritual fitness.
What is spiritual fitness?
For us, spiritual fitness means practicing the practices of Jesus. It means a healthy faith that produces fruit - love, joy, peace, patience, etc.
Spiritual fitness is about unhurrying and slowing down to be more present to God and people. It means building better faith habits. It means training to be and do well (1 Timothy 4:8, John 5:6). It’s not about a specific address or having all the answers, but simply staying connected to Jesus and doing things that make your soul come alive. Healthy things are usually hard things, which is why we invite you to, “Give your faith a workout!”
Like going to the gym…
A strong faith is less about how much you know, but rather just showing up. Showing up and putting in the time and over time experiencing gains. What gains you say? Not bigger muscles or better cardio, but bigger love, more joy, deep peace, commitment to serve, connection to your neighbors, etc.
Like a personal trainer, JesusFit is here to help you get spiritually fit. To help you show up and slow down with Jesus. One spiritual practice at a time. Whether that’s practicing community (Beer church), practicing conversation or practicing reading the Bible.
At the end of the day, we all want to be healthier and we believe the practices of Jesus are key to our health, wellness and thriving.
